Frostbite

Frostbite
© L.Ponce
Bring back that blue, September sky
Heaven's ocean, God’s paradise
Beneath that sky, we made our plans
But that arctic air came down and killed our harvest
That you carelessly left unguarded
You got under my skin, and it hurts
A frostbite like I’ve never known
Oh the falling snow is so warm
Compared to the weather you’re sending me now
I’ve gotta find cover, from the frost
How could your fire burn out so fast?
I guess you needed some air to feed it
But you’re the one that threw on gasoline
Well I begged you to let it smolder
But you had to see those flames outta control.
You got under my skin, and it hurts
A frostbite like I’ve never known
Oh the falling snow is so warm
Compared to the weather you’re sending me now
I’ve gotta find cover, from the frost
From the frost…
I’ll be OK, you wait and see
‘Cause I found shelter from your stinging winds
I see you planting your seed elsewhere anyway
But that harvest that she hopes for
Dies the minute she relinquishes control
You got under my skin, and it hurts
A frostbite like I’ve never known
Oh the falling snow is so warm
Compared to the weather you’re sending me now
I’ve gotta find cover, from the frost
